Experiential in-person program
SOMATICS, MINDFULNESS & TRAUMA training
with Sandrine Harris, SEP, RSMT/E
Non-clinical training for mental health and healthcare professionals and trainees, movement and meditation facilitators, and those working with traumatized individuals and communities
Enrich your learning through an 8-hour program designed to create a coherent understanding of the relationship between embodiment, somatic inquiry, and trauma. Through a collaborative structure, you will explore information and practices based in trauma-sensitive mindfulness, applications of Somatic Experiencing®, peer wisdom through facilitated discussion, systems perspective, and the impact of understanding survival strategies and patterns in the nervous system. This is an immersive workshop offering insight to enrich your embodied knowledge.
You will emerge with:
a clear understanding of the role of the "bottom up" processing of human lived experience and how it meets the "head space"
trauma-sensitive mindfulness and embodied approaches to support your clients
a neurobiological model for tracking somatic cues in yourself and with clients
an expanded curiosity in how you embody your therapeutic/healthcare practice and where your growth edges are in relationship with non-verbal, sensory- and body-based processing
